Ivy Mairura, RMHCI

Ivy brings a diverse background to the counseling experience. She has worked in healthcare and social services helping clients overcome obstacles to achieve their goals. Her counseling experience includes working in residential/outpatient treatment programs for adult clients suffering from mental health crisis and/or substance abuse. In addition to that, she worked in a high school counseling high risk students.
Ivy believes that your story, pain, and compilation of struggles are unique to you. There is no one size fits all approach to therapy. I will spend time with you understanding what you are experiencing so that you can make enhancements that will help you enrich your life. I believe that everyone should have a safe and healing place to work through life’s challenges. The goal is to help you increase self-awareness, gain new perspectives, decrease symptoms, and increase personal strengths to have a more profound life experience. Some of the approaches I use include but are not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Approach and Motivational Interviewing.
However, I understand that each client’s experience will be different, therefore treatment is customized to their individual needs. Counseling is a collaborative process where the client and counselor work together to identify issues and establish therapy goals to facilitate personal growth and healing.
